Strategies to reduce energy costs in low income households
In the project "FinSH - Financial and Support Instruments for Fuel Poverty in Social Housing", project partners from France, Great Britain, Italy, Poland and Germany have developed Europe-wide strategies for reducing energy poverty of low-income households. For this purpose, a comprehensive document analysis, expert interviews and a questionnaire survey among low-income households were carried out. The resulting recommendations describe, on the one hand, measures to increase the energy efficiency of buildings and, on the other hand, those that promote the energy-conscious behaviour of residents. Both approaches reduce the energy costs of a household and thus reduce the risk of energy poverty.
