DescriptionReceived an Electrical Engineering Master of Science (MSc) degree from the University of Coimbra. Currently he is a PhD student in Sustainable Energy Systems under the MIT Portugal Program.
Since 2004, he is a Researcher, Consultant and Project Manager at the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR-UC), in the Intelligent Energy Systems Group. He has been involved in several European and International projects to promote energy efficiency in the residential, industry and buildings sectors, including: E5, DEXA-MCP, EETT, EL-TERTIARY, 4EM-MCP, Energy2B, MODERN, PrimeEnergyIT, Transparense, EPC+, Multiple Benefits and streamSave.
Has carried out extensive research in motor driven systems, elevators and escalators, electric vehicles, standby and off mode energy consumption, Smart Buildings and Smart Cities, and in lighting technologies, specifically in buildings and public lighting. Since 2007, is member of the University of Coimbra as consultant, who helps in the preparation of the Portuguese Utility (EDP) Energy Efficiency measures to be submitted to the Portuguese Energy Efficiency Promotion Plan (DSM Programme).
He is the author and co-author of more than two dozen scientific publications in international conferences and journals. Since 2018, is the Head of Research and Innovation at CWJ company, dedicated to the development and manufacturing of product/solutions based on power electronics and telecommunications for Smart IoT environments.
